Seven Seas nominated for Ship of the Year Award
Subsea 7's pipelay and construction vessel Seven Seas has been nominated and shortlisted for the Lloyd's List Global Awards in the category Ship of the Year. This prestigious award is granted in recognition of a vessel delivered in the past year that has set a benchmark in terms of design, innovation and efficiency.
The Seven Seas was inaugurated in April 2008 and was designed and constructed by IHC Merwede. Huisman designed and constructed the 430mt Flex-lay, 400mt J-lay and the 400mt Reel-lay System and the 750mt Lowering System onboard.
Only three ships are shortlisted for this award. The other nominees are Toyota's Auriga Leader and SCF's Timofey Guzhenko. Being amongst the last three nominees is an achievement in itself.
The winner will be announced on 8 September 2009.
